Satu Tuittila is a free lance choreographer and dance teacher, currently based in Finland. She holds a BA in dance from State Dance School in Stockholm from where she graduated in 1989. In 1999 she also completed an MA in Dance Studies at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). She has been working as free lance choreographer and dancer since 1990 in primarily interdisciplinary projects, working and collaborating with musicians, composers and fine artists. She has worked as choreographer for Bizet’s opera Pearl Fishers produced by Turku City Theatre, Finland. She has created the choreography for Andersen’s fairy tale Snow Queen, also produced by Turku City Theatre, Finland. She has studied with a variety of dance teachers of choreography, composition and contemporary dance techniques in London, New York, France, Switzerland and all the Nordic countries. She currently teaches dance and choreography at Turku Conservatory, Kuopio Conservatory.
